Besides typical network capability (multiple users can print to the device via the network), I'm looking for a printer with networked fax capabilities:
Users could fax from their computer, through the fax/printer device without having to get up and stand in line to send a fax.
What kind of printer would do this?
If it offers scan and copy options, that would be good but not necessary - looking at the user request submitted to me.
Reading the second link, I see that it looks like a very nice product (no AD schema modification, can operate on a server other than the mail server).
Do you use this?
What configuration? On Exchange server, on separate server?
Could it run on a dedicated workstation or a low use workstation? I have 5 users that might be interested and they are not sending 5 faxes a minute. So if I could avoid placing it on the mail server (to keep that setup as simple as possible) and having a dedicated second server, that would be great. Or... get away with running it on a existing file server, or something like that.
Anyone know about current pricing? Have any education people here been able to benefit from special .edu pricing?
