I have a single 700 GB hard disk on which I would like to install the following operating systems.
windows xp windows 7 windows server 2003 Ubuntu linux
Can someone suggest in which order they should be installed so that on power up I have a menu from which to choose.
Thanking you in anticipation,
Chris

Haven't you heard of virtual PC :) My gut feeling says oldest first: XP 2003 win 7 ubuntu (Ubuntu last because of GRUB)

I have a couple of test machines with xp, vista and windows 7. xp must be installed first as vista and windows 7 have to change the boot files, Maybe as CJ said, the grub might work if installed first. I run Ubuntu in virtual PC and it works fine.

I actually had a setup similar to this one. (CJ should remember that fiasco), you should be able to install them in any order and then install Ubuntu (Windows like to try and take over everything). I would seriously partition them first before installing more than one that way you just pick the partition you would like it to install to without having to mess with it too too much. once Ubuntu gets loaded the Grub Boot loader has a menu on what you would like to run and all of them should be on the list. though if you dont like grub i would suggest following the link provided in a previous post. though a fair bit of warning if you are like me and like to have the computer in sleep mode instead of actually shutting own all the time then i would suggest getting a few smaller HDD's and using each one separately. Having all them OS's on one HDD will cause you to lose that function though if its not that important to you then go for it.

Just thinking out loud, how may native VHD support help with this?

Very little, Ton. Boot-from-VHD only works on OSes that do EFI boot, and there are precious few of them.
