2009 Photos: Birds, Butterflies, Beautyberries, Bullfrogs, Bears and More
It's been a busy year -- little time for pictures -- but I have managed to snap a few. As always, I'm blessed to spend much of my time in places where we get to see a bit of wildlife, and I love sharing it.

Great egret
As you can see, it's been a great year for great herons. Like many large birds, these "don't see you" while you're in the car. So I was able to get this close shot of its head and beak. Dunno how it keeps the feathers so white when it spends most of its days poking into muddy water in search of food.
